All Offshore Turbine Services vessels have the capacity to carry 15,000 litres of diesel fuel in their own tanks, making them an efficient fuel transfer vessel. The vessels’ economical engines also ensure that long push-on periods do not consume a lot of fuel. Generator and fuel transfer projects have recently been completed on London Array and Wikinger in the Baltic. On Wikinger, the vessels worked 24-hours from Sassnitz and routinely transferred 10,000 litres in each shift as well as undertaking generator servicing. As the construction phase came to an end, the vessels provided a cost effective solution to get the generators back to port.
